ASUS Eee 901’s keyboard is very compact and difficult to use, but it is compensated for by the long battery life, low weight and small size.
ASUS has chosen to equip Netbook Eee 901 with a so-called SSD hard drive. Because of the high cost per gigabyte of storage capacity, the technology is only 12 gigabytes. This is supplemented by 20 gigabytes of online storage service Eee Storage, allowing you to store your files online and access them from anywhere.
SSD hard drive would then in theory, provide a computer which is much faster to boot. In practice, however, only about five seconds of difference in how fast the Eee PC 901 is clear in relation to the Eee PC 1000HA. On the other hand makes SSD hard drive that the computer can better cope with the knubs, it might get during transport.
The keyboard on the Eee 901 is compact, so it is hard to write without hitting two keys at once. There are four shortcut keys which you can program the two.
This machine is also equipped with Bluetooth, so files can be exchanged wirelessly. And that supports the 802.11n standard, and hence a faster transfer via wireless network.
The tested model uses Windows XP, but also offers ASUS Eee 901, a version of Linux operating system.
Conclusion
The keyboard is very compact and difficult to use, but it is compensated for by the long battery life, low weight and small size.
