Nikon Coolpix S710 – Review

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009
nikon_coolpix2_mag_140The picture quality is excellent, and the same is the operation and the various options.

Nikon Coolpix S710 has 14.5 mega pixels across to do well. It is a small camera that skill takes place in a pocket. It has 3.6 x optical zoom and wide angle, which roughly corresponds to 28 mm. The camera’s menu to find a smile recognition feature. It means that you make the camera to a person, and then the photo is only taken when he smiles. This feature works best in bright light. Indoors in low light, you can sit and smile, yes, almost hysterical laugh in a long time without the camera sees it.

The bright lights, you get good and very detailed images. The strong wide angle distorts the picture somewhat, but not much. In macro mode, where you can shoot subjects that are so close that they almost touch the front of the lens, impressive camera. Here you get very nice shots with an excellent sharpness. When you zoom in, you have a remote that corresponds to 100 mm in 35 mm film system. It is not much, but fine for such portraits, and there is no distortion, as when using wide angle. There is also a digital zoom, but it is an unnecessary feature that does not give better images.

Nikon stresses that the Coolpix S710 can be set to a film sensitivity of ISO 12800. It is violent and in practice totally unusable. The first images will be only 3 mega pixels, and secondly they are so grumsede and noisy that they can not be used for anything. One can wonder why Nikon even spent gunpowder to give the camera this opportunity.

The camera can also record movies, but only 640 x 480 pixels, which is a part during many competing cameras, several of which can record movies in HD quality.

There are built memory, but it goes only to a few pictures. The only right is to invest in a large memory card for pictures fills pretty much because of the high resolution.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX37 – Review

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

panasonicfx37_mag_140Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX37 is an inexpensive and compact camera that takes good pictures.

A good place to start purchasing the new camera is to wonder what was missed by the old camera. If the answer is that it would be nice to get more of the pictures, it is more wide angle, you have to have, and here FX37 test star: 25 mm wide angle equivalent to a visual angle of 85 degrees. Whatever you use the camera to have a sharp wide angle advantage.

Panasonic camera has a smart automation. It is called iA, and it even detects the type of scene in question, and set the camera accordingly. Does it make a face, the priority that it becomes sharp and velbelyst, sees a landscape increases the color and sharpness and so on. One can look at an icon on the screen what the camera has been discovered. Exposure and color are safe, however, decreases the image quality at high ISO.

The zoom range is ideal for such a small camera. The price, however, is that the sharpness is similar, but not too much, when you zoom quite close. We miss something that your right to intervene at the front of the camera, but in return enjoy the sleek design and the camera is easy to set with the Quick menu.
